#13 Jacobean Jumble Quilt Pattern
$55.00
+ P&H
Quilt size 46” x 59½” (116 x 151cm)
before quilting Jacobean Jumble is a 12 block design made using layered
appliqué. All this means is that when putting the pieces together they are
laid one on top of the other with the raw edges covered and the exposed
edges turned under. The shapes are then glue basted together and stitched.
This design could easily be made using appliqué methods such as
needle turn or raw edged appliqué. However, the method that I use and
which is in the pattern is for turned edge appliqué. There are 19 colours
on this vibrant quilt and it is not a beginners quilt; this design is for
quilters' who are experienced.
Whilst making this quilt I discovered
mylah circles which are a type of plastic circle template. I used them for
my circle templates as they can be ironed over - they are fantastic and
are available in patchwork and quilting shops. As you can see there are
lots of circles on this quilt; so if you enjoy making them, as I do, them
you will have fun doing this design.

#10 Jacobean Jazz Wall Hanging Pattern
$22.00
+ P&H

Wall Hanging size 21” x 24” (53 x 63cm)
“Jacobean Jazz” is a
wall hanging that is a fun thing to do and for those fairly new to
appliqué, this design will provide a variety of learning experiences. It
is made using my “Appliqart” prepare method as well as layered appliqué.
The pattern provides all of the instructions needed to do this.
“Jacobean Jazz’ hangs
on a rod which is threaded through a lovely little pocket, held in place
by covered buttons. This is a great design for rummaging through the stash
to find colours, or better still, going out and buying lots of small
pieces of fabric.

Spring Song Quilt Pattern
$30.00
+ P&H
Quilt Size 70½” (179cm) square “Spring Song” is a very pretty
quilt made using my “Appliqart” prepare method with colours in
purples/mauves, yellows and blues. Several shades of each of these colours
are used to add interest to the flowers; they also have embroidered stamen
in the centres of the flowers.
The design is based on a central medallion square and strip borders. The
quilt has the appearance of large light blue shapes onto which the
appliqué is stitched. However, these shapes are added to the straight
borders, in small pieces, as the quilt is put together.

#08
Fuchsia Fantasy Quilt Pattern
$20.00
+ P&H
Quilt Size 64"
x 64"
There are several ways that
this "Appliqart" quilt can be made including needle turn, machine appliqué or even raw
edge appliqué if that was what was preferred. It is not a pattern for a raw
beginner; a quilter who has had some experience could readily make it. The
instructions given are for my Appliqart method where all edges are turned
under and glue basted, therefore there are no raw edges. I use a Clover mini
iron and Roxanne Glue-Baste-it to make my quilts and all of the fuchsias,
leaves, fans, bias and borders are made and have their edges turned under
and glue basted prior to being glue basted to the background. I believe it
is a simpler method of appliqué than needle turn. Due to the fact that
all of the appliqué shapes are prepared prior to basting on the background
it allows for great portability. Most of the fabric used was from the Fossil
Fern range by Benartex as it is lovely and soft and delightful to hand sew,
which is how this quilt was made. This is a beautiful quilt and was featured
in Australian Patchwork and Quilting and was on the cover. It is
the kind of quilt that takes time to make and would become a family
heirloom.

#06 Wattle
Day Wall Hanging/Table Runner Pattern
$10.00
+ P&H
Wattle Day is a wall hanging or table runner measuring 38" x 15 1/4".
It was designed for Homespun Magazine and appeared in their January 2010
Australiana Edition. The Wattle Day design is based on my "Robianville"
and "On The Village Green" quilts and compliments both. It depicts a
lovely little country scene with two boys flying a kite, two houses and a
shop. If you haven't made either of those quilts and would like to have a
go, then Wattle Day is a good one to start out on as it is quite a small
project. It can be made up either as a wall hanging or a table runner and
would make a great conversation piece in a variety of decors.
